Two public data sculptures are being developed for the new permanent exhibition of the Museum of Ethnography currently in construction. The data-based installations will represent the conceptual and temporal dynamics of the overall collection and selected data-sets of the Museum of Ethnography. In part one a woven diagram physicalises the growth of each collection compared to the complete growth of the museum. The standalone object will be made from the characteristic materials of the collections and captures the interconnections of collections, its evolution in time as well as the impact of site and staff changes from the founding of the museum to the present day. In part two a series of encoded objects will display the life history of the objects with regards to the individuals who played roles in their creation and collection.
